Students at BACA College, part of Brighton Aldridge Community Academy and the Aldridge Education family, are celebrating their achievements as they receive their A Level, BTEC and vocational results and prepare for exciting next steps in education, employment and elite sport.
From outstanding performances in the classroom to achievements on the pitch, this year’s results reflect the ambition, commitment and determination that sit at the heart of BACA College.
Over the past two years, students have combined demanding academic and vocational study with an extensive programme of sport, enrichment, leadership and personal development. For many, this has meant balancing their studies with high-level training and competition – developing the discipline, resilience and teamwork needed to succeed in both.
Results Highlights
-
Students performed exceptionally well across a range of subjects, both A levels and Vocational subjects.
-
Students studying Enterprise and Entrepreneurship excelling, with 80% of the cohort getting top grades
-
Our sports students also performed very well, with many students going onto study sport both in the UK and internationally in Australia & New Zealand. With a first for BACA with a female student achieving a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee to play Women's football.
-
Yet again Construction has exceeded the national benchmark for success rates across all courses. This year marks the first year that we have had a female Level 3 Site Carpenter successfully completed the course.
Sport continues to be a defining strength of BACA College. Through its specialist sporting pathways and the Aldridge Cricket & Football Academies, students have access to high-quality coaching and opportunities to develop their performance alongside their studies.
This year’s cohort includes students who have represented clubs and counties at an elite level, pursued professional sporting pathways and combined significant training commitments with strong academic results.
But success at BACA goes well beyond sport. Students across subjects including Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Photography, Media and Construction, are celebrating impressive outcomes, with many now progressing to university, apprenticeships, further training and employment.
Jodie Bovington, Head of BACA College, said:
“Today is about celebrating everything our students have achieved and recognising just how much goes into reaching this point.
“At BACA College, success takes many forms. It might be an outstanding grade, securing a university place or apprenticeship, representing your county or club, achieving a sporting ambition, or simply having the confidence to take a next step that once felt out of reach.
“Our students have shown tremendous commitment over the past two years. Many have balanced their studies with demanding training schedules, competitions, work experience and opportunities outside the classroom, and the resilience and discipline they have developed will stay with them long after they leave us.
“We are extremely proud of the results they have achieved, but even more proud of the ambitious and capable young people they have become. We cannot wait to see where they go next.”
Student Success Stories
While every student has something to celebrate, standout successes include:
Theo T – achieved Double Distinction in Sport Double and a Distinction in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. Alongside their studies, he has represented Aldridge Cricket Academy throughout his time at BACA College, including being part of the squad that travelled to Kenya for their cricket tour in 2025. Theo is travelling for the next year and will continue his education at Northumbria University to study Sports Management in 2027.
“I am very grateful to all the teachers who helped me achieve the grades I was aiming for which has allowed me to go to university. I have also really enjoyed my time being part of the Cricket Academy, and I believe coming to BACA has made me a better person in many aspects in life”.
Tommy P– achieved Distinction* in Sport Science, Distinction* in Sport and C in A Level Biology, he has balanced his studies with being part of the Aldridge Cricket Academy and also continued his training in Contemporary and Classical dance. They will now progress to Rambert School to continue his dance training. Tommy also achieved the highest Aldridge Bursary due to his dedication and commitment during his time at BACA.
“BACA has given me so much in terms of support, guidance and encouragement in discovering myself as a person and athlete. Despite originally coming to this school to train in the cricket academy and that being the end goal, this school and programme has led to me finding a new path which I will now be pursuing, dance. Thank you for the passion this school has shown towards my future prospects.”
Lavinia W – achieved Double Distinction in Media Double and a Merit in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, she will now study Business Management at the University of Sussex.
“I am very pleased with my results and can’t wait for the next stage in my life, studying Business Management at the University of Sussex”
Jack Davies, Principal at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy, said:
“Results Day is one of those moments that captures what education is all about – seeing young people recognise what they have achieved and look ahead with excitement and confidence to what comes next.
“Our students have worked incredibly hard for these results, and many have done so while pursuing ambitious sporting, creative and professional goals outside the classroom. Their achievements show what can happen when talent is matched with determination, opportunity and the right support.
“Whether their next step takes them to university, an apprenticeship, employment or further along an elite sporting pathway, they leave BACA with much more than a set of qualifications. They leave with the confidence, resilience and ambition to make the most of the opportunities ahead of them.
“I want to thank our BACA College team, our coaches, support staff, families and partners for everything they have done to help our students reach this point.
“Our motto, ‘Believe You Can’, is about giving young people the belief and opportunities to achieve more than they thought possible – and today is a brilliant example of that in action.”
